Sidney Neddenriep

Prior to starting and running an outdoor school in the Glenrose area of Spokane for three years, I spent four years teaching in Montana, Arizona, and Washington through the Public Education system. My experience in education ranges from rural towns to inner-cities to Montessori and everywhere in between! As an educator, I have seen first-hand the importance of nature, play, and fostering inquiry among young minds. I am passionate about providing a space of peace and social-emotional awareness for littles and am so excited to experience this on the beautiful homelands of the Spokane Tribal people. When I am not working with Beargrass, I am spending time with my courageous daughter, wonderful husband, and two rescue dogs. I find peace through event planning for friends and family, trail running, camping, reading and baking.

I am a Portland native who has been transplanted in Spokane for over 10 years now. I love to stay as active and involved in as many communities and opportunities as possible! I’m at my best when I’m exploring the outdoors, playing music, swimming, leading youth programs at the ymca and my church, and appreciating the sincerity and fun that small humans bring to our lives. I have 10+ years of experience working with youth and children in a variety of settings, and I value freedom/creativity, healthy social development, and wonder at the natural world as key elements of human thriving. I’m honored to get to guide and learn alongside the learners at Beargrass.
